New Zealand Society of Genealogists Otaki Branch
Branch volunteers are on duty in our area at the Otaki Public Library every Wednesday morning from 10am to 12 noon (except for a few weeks over the Christmas/ New Year period). Visitors are welcome at that time, as they are to our monthly meetings. See more
Otaki Museum
Otaki Museum is a small Museum located on the Main Street, and researches the history of Otaki and the surrounding district. This Museum has an extensive photo collection and many early copies of the town's newspaper, the Otaki Mail and holds archival material relating to the town, including records from Otaki School and the Otaki Borough Council. Otaki Historical Society
The Otaki Historical Society exists to foster an interest in Otaki’s history. This is achieved mainly by publishing the annual Otaki Historical Journal, which records the town’s history through researched and contributed articles that include personal and family memoirs; researched articles about an aspect of Otaki history; reprints of relevant extracts from magazines, books or historical documents; and occasionally personal opinion.
