Otaki Beach Visitors - By Claire Roper

Over the years, we've had our fare share of visitors from overseas; United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia and even Switzerland and like any good ambassador of Otaki, one of our first stops is Otaki Beach, visitors are always amazed by the rugged wild beauty of the beach and to have this on our door step is a rare treat.

With amazing views of Kapiti Island, the South Island (Which our English visitors always find fantastic and compare it to France as they are not able to see it across the English Chanel because of all the smog) and of course when the weather is perfect, you are also be able to see Mount Taranaki and Ruapheu sitting on the Horizon.

The Sand Dunes where admired for their natural beauty and rolling sand hills. An abundance of wildlife is always on show and to keep their memories forever plenty of photographs where taken. While walking along the beach our visitors loved the sites of locals walking their dogs, riding horses, fishing or collecting Pipi. Sandcastles were built, names drawn in the sand, shells were collected, some went for a swim, other's dug their toes into the warm summer sand and others found their inner caveman and posed with driftwood.

"No better way to spend Christmas Day in Otaki! Walking down the gorgeous beach, collecting driftwood and spotting people surfing wearing their Santa hats!"
KATHRYN LENNON, Yorkshire, United Kingdom

"Visiting my Daughter's boyfriends family in Otaki was a great treat, topped off by a trip to such a beautiful beach"
GRACE CHUA, Penampang, Malaysia

"What a great beach, swimming in the ocean is the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day!"
GERALD ROPER, London, United Kingdom

And just like Tidy Kiwi's, they left nothing but their footprints in sand.  I've always enjoyed Otaki's beautiful beach and get as much pleasure and enjoyment out of it as our visitors do!
